Experienced executive and business advocate James Pearson is CEO of the City of Joondalup.
His priorities are to advocate and provide for community needs; attract investment and support local businesses; and work with the Council and community to realise Joondalup’s vision to be a bold, creative, and prosperous global city.
Among his achievements in senior government and business roles, James:
Led Australia’s largest national business policy and advocacy network, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and its Western Australian affiliate
Led public affairs in Australia for two of the world’s largest resources companies
Supported Australia’s strategic interests in China, Africa & the Pacific as a diplomat
He is an adjunct Professor at Deakin University Business School; Life Member & Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management; and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
James has an MBA from Deakin University and B.Sc from the University of WA; is married with three children and two grandchildren; loves to sail and supports the Fremantle Dockers.
