The 21st Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) Steve Gollschewski APM has more than 44 years of distinguished experience in policing, disaster management, governance and reform.
Prior to his appointment as Commissioner, he led the Police and Emergency Services Reform, overseeing some of the most significant and complex reforms in the QPS.
As the State Disaster Coordinator, he spent many years coordinating Queensland’s disaster and emergency response, including the COVID-19 pandemic and Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley floods in 2011.
Mr Gollschewski led the largest security operation in Australia as the Commander of Operational Sentinel at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
