Ms Jones has more than 20 years’ experience in senior leadership positions in the public and private sectors.

Kate is an experienced board director and serves on the Tech Council of Australia and the Institute of Molecular Bioscience board.

Kate is also an Independent Commissioner on the Australian Rugby League Commission, the national controlling body and administrator of rugby league, an Independent Director for Paralympics Australia and Touch Australia and Co-Chair of Common Ground Queensland.

In addition to her board work, Kate is a Principal Advisor at Australian tech company Soda, for Australian Tech Entrepreneur, Bevan Slattery.

Kate previously served as a Minister in the Queensland Government in a range of portfolios including State Development, Education, Tourism, Major Events, Innovation and Climate Change.

Kate was also the Minister for the Commonwealth Games responsible for the delivery of Queensland’s largest ever event, the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and was a member of the Olympic Candidature Leadership Group, successfully securing the 2032 Olympic Games on Australian soil.
